Nuneaton Town FC completed a demanding eight-game pre-season programme in July 2026, recording five wins, one draw and two defeats ahead of the new season at Step 4.

The fixtures ran from 4 July to 28 July, with home matches held at the Oval. Nuneaton Town beat Stratford Town 2-1, came from two goals down to defeat Hinckley AFC 3-2, won 4-1 at Sutton United, beat Northampton Sileby Rangers 3-2 away, hammered Coalville Town 6-2 at home, and drew 1-1 with Rushall Olympic. Defeats came against AFC Telford United (0-1) and Lutterworth Athletic (1-3).

Squad Performance and Squad Building

Eesa Sawyers finished as the leading scorer across the pre-season matches. Charlie Jones, Bradley Stretton, Terry Atem and Jimmy Armson also scored more than once during the programme.

Manager Darren Acton and Russell Dodd have retained a core of players from back-to-back title-winning sides and added new recruits. The club's treasurer noted that recruitment was aided by the club's appeal to players, with new signings settling quickly into the existing group.

Commercial Performance

July marked the first month of the club's new financial year and delivered the biggest single month of commercial income in the club's short history, according to the treasurer's update.
