Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery will host a special handling session dedicated to local comedy legend Larry Grayson on Saturday, 15 August. Visitors will be able to touch and examine personal objects owned by Larry, along with photographs and scrapbooks that have never been displayed before.
The collection includes photographs of Larry both on stage and relaxing with friends and family. The items will be available for one day only, making this a one-off opportunity for fans.
Free Drop-In Event
The session is free to attend and no booking is required. Visitors can drop in anytime between 11am and 3:30pm in the White Gallery.
Cllr Bobbie Greenwood, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Health, said: "Larry was a well-known comedian and much-loved local man. This is a great opportunity to find out more about him through the museum collections. The Museum's handling sessions enable visitors to feel the excitement of real history in their hands."
Other Exhibitions on Display
While at the Museum, visitors can also see temporary exhibitions. A Life in Pictures by Gerald Ball, featuring works by a local artist, is on display for its final week. Ismatjahan's World by Ismatjahan Ravat showcases works inspired by textiles and garments. The newest exhibition, Ingenious Gadgets by Maurice Collins, features 100 objects.
