Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council is backing Recycle Week 2026, taking place from 14 to 20 September. The campaign, delivered by Recycle Now, aims to show residents how proper recycling makes a real difference and encourages people to do it correctly.
Each year, billions of items that could be recycled are placed in the wrong bins across the UK. When items are recycled correctly, they save energy and keep valuable materials in circulation for reuse.
Campaign focuses on waste sorting
Recycle Week features a cast of recyclable characters whose stories highlight the value of proper waste sorting. These characters will appear on the council's social media channels throughout the campaign week.
Cllr Shane Coates-Jarman, Portfolio Holder for Planning, Enforcement and Public Service, said: "Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council are happy to help raise awareness of the items that are wrongly placed in the waste bin that could be rescued and recycled. It is very important residents know what can and can't be recycled, and the handy 'Recycle Right Guide' can be used to assist this."
