Nuneaton Town travel to Rugby Borough on Saturday 10 October at 3pm for a Pitching-In Northern Premier League Division 1 Midlands fixture. The match takes place at Nationwide Windows Arena, Kilsby Lane, Hillmorton, Rugby, Warwickshire, CV21 4PN.
Town arrive in strong form after a 5th successive win with a comeback victory over Boston Town on Tuesday night. Rugby Borough, by contrast, are on a run of 4 straight defeats and have slipped to 6th place in the league, with several teams holding games in hand above them.
The two sides met earlier this season in the FA Cup at the same venue, when Nuneaton won 1-0 through a goal by Armson on 22 August 2026.
About Rugby Borough
Rugby Borough was formed in 2017 to provide a pathway for Rugby Town juniors into senior football. The club has achieved rapid advancement through the league system. They won the Leicestershire Senior League Division 1 at the first attempt, then won the Premier Division the following season but were denied promotion due to ground grading issues.
A second divisional title in 2021-22 brought promotion to the Spartan South Midlands League Division 1. Borough won the play-offs the following season to reach the United Counties Premier South, and after just two further seasons, beat Aylestone Park in the play-off final in 2024-25 to gain promotion to Step 4 for the first time.
After finishing 16th in their first season at this level, coupled with relegation for Rugby Town, Borough are now the highest-ranked Rugby side. They have achieved 5 promotions in 10 seasons of existence.
Former Nuneaton players Wes York and Lathaniel Rowe-Turner may feature for Borough. York and Gary Stohrer are the club's top scorers with 3 goals each.
