Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council has launched its new planning system, Idox Cloud, marking a significant modernisation of how planning services are delivered to residents and applicants.
The new system replaces a decades-old platform and equips planning officers with modern digital tools designed to support more efficient and effective working.
What the new system offers
Idox Cloud introduces greater automation and reduces administrative workload for planning officers. The system also provides tools to support a more mobile approach to planning work.
A public portal has been created to streamline interactions between the council, applicants and residents. The portal allows users to view and comment on planning applications and associated information in a user-friendly format.
Residents and applicants can now submit pre-application enquiries and enforcement requests online through the portal.
Support for all residents
The council has confirmed that telephone and in-person help remain available via customer services for residents unable to access the online portal, ensuring fully inclusive services.
Cllr Shane Coates-Jarman, Portfolio Holder for Planning, Enforcement and Public Services, said: "We are pleased to see this new system go live. Idox Cloud will give our planning team the tools they need to improve efficiency in making planning decisions for our community. This administration is committed to modernising services, and this upgrade represents a big jump in the right direction."
The council thanked residents and applicants for their patience during the implementation period.
More information and access to the new planning portal is available on the council's website.
