Nuneaton-born artist Carrie Boal is opening her exhibition "Not a Vista – an encounter" at Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery on Saturday, 29 August.
The show features 14 pieces of colour-saturated abstract art created using pastel on fabric, ink on fabric, crayon on fabric, and acrylic on canvas boards.
About the Artist
Carrie was born in Nuneaton and raised in Atherstone. She has lived in Nuneaton for the last 24 years.
She recently completed an MA in Fine Arts and has exhibited at RBSA Gallery in Birmingham for the last two years. Her work draws inspiration from nature and artists including Frank Auerbach, Cy Twombly, and Helen Frankenthaler. She works spontaneously across a range of mediums to communicate the feeling that nature invokes.
Residents may recognise her work from the 'Art in the Streets Exhibition', which she participated in last year.
Visiting the Exhibition
Admission to the exhibition is free, though donations are welcomed. The museum also hosts several other temporary exhibitions throughout the building.
