Nuneaton Town return home on Tuesday 15 September to face second-placed Wellingborough Town FC in the Pitching-In Northern Premier League Division 1 Midlands. The match kicks off at 7:45pm at The Oval, Coventry Road, Bedworth, CV12 8NN.

The original Wellingborough Town were founded in 1867 and became the first team to play under floodlights in 1879. They moved to playing fields behind the Dog & Duck pub in 1901, where they remain today. The club briefly changed its name to Wellingborough Redwell in the 1910s before folding in 2002. A new club formed in 2005 and saved the old ground. Wellingborough competed in the United Counties Leagues until promotion in 2023–24 and are now in their third season in NPL Division 1 Midlands.
The club's nickname, the Doughboys, comes from a local pastry speciality called Ock n Dough, which contains bacon, onions, and carrots. A pub in the town is named after the pastry.
