Nuneaton Town travel to Cambridgeshire on Monday 28 September for a 7:45pm kick-off against St Ives Town in the Pitching-In Northern Premier League Division 1 Midlands. A win would secure three consecutive victories after recent wins against Shepshed Dynamo and Grantham Town, both sides who were in the play-off places at the time of those matches.

The match takes place at Westwood Road, St Ives, PE27 6DT. Admission is £10 for adults, £8 for concessions (students and military with valid ID), £2 for 12–16 year olds, and free for under-12s.

St Ives Town sit 20th in the league with just 7 points from 9 games. Their season has been difficult following relegation from the Southern League Premier Central last year. Their wins have come against Sutton Coldfield Town, an away draw at Grantham, and a home victory over Corby Town last Monday, which followed a change of manager.

Return to a Historic Ground

The trip marks Nuneaton Town's first return to Westwood Road since 13 January 2024, when Nuneaton Borough played their final ever match there. Borough lost 3–0 that day in the Southern League Premier Central. The result was later expunged from the records after the club officially resigned from competitive football in the following days as mounting debts followed their removal from Liberty Way.

About St Ives Town

St Ives Town was formed in 1887 and played amateur football until the 1950s, when they joined the United Counties League. They gained promotion to the Premier Division in 2005 after a play-off win. The club reached the FA Vase quarter-finals in the 2011–12 season. They were promoted to Step 3 football for the first time in 2016 after defeating AFC Rushden & Diamonds, playing in the Southern Premier Division Central for 10 seasons before finishing 19th last season. This is their first season in the Northern Premier League.

Team News

Nuneaton Town had a free Saturday following Bedworth's FA Trophy home draw, which led to the postponement of their scheduled Corby home game. This extra rest and training time comes ahead of Monday's away fixture.
