Nuneaton Town FC has introduced new matchday safety rules for younger supporters, effective immediately at all home games.
From now on, all supporters aged under 17 must be accompanied by a responsible adult aged 21 or over. Each adult can supervise a maximum of two under-17s, unless they are members of the same immediate family.
Why the change?
The club introduced the new arrangements following recent incidents involving groups of unaccompanied young people. The decision brings Nuneaton Town into line with measures adopted by other clubs at the same level and across non-league football facing similar issues.
Club's message to young supporters
Nuneaton Town FC said it remains proud of the number of young supporters who follow the club and wants to maintain an environment where the next generation feels welcome.
The club stated that the vast majority of younger supporters behave well, and the new rules are not intended to discourage them from supporting their local team. The club also emphasised its responsibility to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for all supporters, volunteers and matchday staff.
