Nuneaton Town swept aside Grantham Town with a dominant 5-0 victory on Tuesday night, ending a run of four straight defeats with a crushing display at home.
Nuneaton Town's scorers were Rajter (own goal, 7 minutes), Bradley Stretton (13), Charlie Jones (44), Terry Atem (77) and Eesa Sawyers (85). The attendance was 444.
Early Dominance
The home side struck early through an own goal. Josh Green's long throw proved dangerous, and Grantham defender Rajter misdirected his header, leaving keeper Steggles stranded as the ball nestled into the corner after just six minutes.
Nuneaton doubled their lead shortly after. Eesa Sawyers caused havoc down the left, turning his markers before driving into the box and cutting back for Bradley Stretton, who found space to fire into the corner with a deflection.
Grantham struggled to respond. Czerwak drew a save from Nuneaton keeper Finn Osborn, who had returned to the side following an injury to Gabriel Bajrami. The away side's frustration grew as both Czerwak and Jacklin received yellow cards.
Second-Half Dominance
Charlie Jones added a third goal before half-time, curling a strike from the edge of the box after Sawyers had picked up a loose ball on the byline and cut it back to him.
Terry Atem netted against his former club in the 77th minute, before Eesa Sawyers completed the rout with a fifth goal in the 85th minute.
Recent Form
The win came after Nuneaton Town had ended their four-match losing streak with a victory against Shepshed Dynamo at the weekend. The side had recently seen departures of James Armson and James Harrison.
