Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council has been selected to receive £270,000 from the national Playground Fund administered by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.

The funding is restricted to Bedworth and three sites have been identified for potential improvements: Collycroft Recreation Ground, Bailey Park, Johnson Road Play Area, and Heckley Recreation Ground.

How the council will spend the money

Government rules require the council to design these play spaces in partnership with local families. The council is asking parents, carers, and children to help decide which sites should be redeveloped and what type of play facilities should be installed.

How to have your say

A survey questionnaire has been produced for residents to complete. The consultation closes on Friday, 25 September.

Cllr Bobbie Greenwood, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Health, said: "This is great news for Bedworth as our parks form a central part of our Parks and Green space strategy for our Borough. I would urge people to complete the surveys so we can see what are the most important things needed to boost our parks."
