The Leader of Nuneaton & Bedworth Borough Council has issued a statement expressing sympathy for those affected by devastating floods in Nepal.
The borough is home to a Nepalese population of more than 3,000 people, according to the council's statement released on 27 August 2026.
Community Contribution
The council described the Nepalese and Gurkha communities as valued and much-loved members of the borough. The statement noted their contributions through military service, charitable causes, and what it described as a peaceful way of life.
The council highlighted the communities' reputation for respectfulness and law-abiding conduct.
