Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery is hosting the opening of an exhibition by locally born artist Ismatjahan Ravat this weekend. The display, titled Ismatjahan's world, features paintings, delicately decorated boxes and ornaments.
Ismatjahan is a neurodivergent artist who creates work using patterns, repeating sequences and layered textures. She was born in Nuneaton and is now based in Coventry. Her artwork is often inspired by the textiles and garments she wears.
The artist has previously completed commissions for the City of Coventry Health Centre and the Government Art Collection.
Family activities and Friends Group meeting
Younger visitors can take part in a free activity to make a pair of fashion sunglasses. The activity runs from 10.30am to 3.30pm on Saturday, 4 July, with no need to book — drop-in attendance is welcome. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Activities are free, though donations are welcome.
The museum's Friends Group will also meet on Saturday at 1.30pm. Members and prospective members can find out more about the group over tea and biscuits.
